The Global Food Safety Initiative(GFSI) is a worldwide non-profit organization, issued from acollaboration between some of the leading experts in the world of food safety, such as retailers, food manufacturers and service providers associated with the food industry. It is coordinated by the Consumer Goods Forum, the only global network for retailers andconsumer goods manufacturers worldwide.
The mission of the GFSI is to work towards continuous improvementof food security management systems in order to build confidence inthe food products distribution. The projects recognized by GFSI arebecoming the norm in Canada, the United States and Asia, and are required by more and more retailers.
