Preheat the oven to 190 ° C (375 ° F).

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the cabbage leaves for 2 to 3 minutes. Cool under cold water and drain. Chop the cabbage leaves.

In the same saucepan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Cook the onions for 5 to 7 minutes.

Add the meat sauce, cooked rice, vegetable broth, cabbage and, if desired, Italian seasonings to the pan. Salt, pepper and stir.

Transfer the preparation to a 20 cm (8 in) square baking dish.

Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
